All doctors in the practice have satisfied the training requirements of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and are on the Vocational Register of General Practitioners. This means we have a commitment to general practice and continuing medical education.

  • Dr Vanessa Collins

    Graduated in 1981 with Honours and prizes in Occupational Health & Community Medicine. She spent three and a half years at Hornsby & Ku-ring-gai Hospital and 12 months at Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. She has obtained her Family Planning Association Certificate and Family Medicine Programme Certificate and joined the practice in 1985. In addition to providing comprehensive general practice care, she provides shared ante-natal care with Hornsby & Ku-ring-gai Hospital and is interested in paediatrics, women’s health and counselling. She has shared the University of Sydney’s Northern Clinical School Teaching Award 2002 for Excellence in Med 4 Teaching, Community Medicine for her involvement in teaching medical students.

  • Dr Peter Collins

    Graduated in 1981 with Honours and a prize in Occupational Health and, after internship and residency, spent four years in advanced training in internal medicine. He joined the practice at the end of 1986. He is a Captain in the Australian Naval Reserve and has been trained in underwater medicine. He has maintained a special interest in Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Men’s Health and has completed a family planning course. He has shared the University of Sydney’s Northern Clinical School Teaching Award 2002 for Excellence in Med 4 Teaching, Community Medicine for his involvement in teaching medical students.

  • Dr Anna Frecker

    Graduated in 1983 from Sydney University and completed her hospital attachments locally at Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai Hospital. The Family Medicine Training Program included posts in ophthalmology and geriatrics and rehabilitation. She gained her Family Planning Certificate in 1985 and has been in general practice since 1987. For the last 10 years she has taught medical students from Notre Dame University.

    Dr Frecker is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

  • Dr Rosanne Russell

    (MBBS, Dip RACOG, FRACGP)

    Graduated in 1987 with a prize in Occupational Health and Community Medicine. After internship and 2 years residency, she trained at St Margaret’s Hospital for 12 months in neonatology and obstetrics, completing her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1992. She completed the Family Medicine Training Programme and sat her General Practice Fellowship examination in 1994, becoming a fellow in 1995. Her interests continue in children, women and internal medicine.

    Dr Russell is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

  • Dr Ross Mowbray

    (MBBS, Dip RACOG, FRACGP)

    Graduated from the University of NSW in 1987. Dr Mowbray completed four years of further hospital based training at Westmead Hospital. This included training in paediatrics, surgery, general medicine and in 1991 he completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He obtained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1995.

    Dr Mowbray is available Monday to Friday.

  • Dr Birgit Tauber

    (Dr med (Germany), FRACGP)

    Graduated from the University of Rostock in Germany in 1994 with a PHD, she completed a further six years of physician and surgical training in Berlin followed by a Fellowship in General Practice in Berlin, Germany. After moving to Sydney, she gained experience in emergency medicine, intensive care, and paediatrics at Hornsby Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga.   She completed a Diploma of Child Health at Sydney University and the Family Medicine Training Program. She underwent Rural General Practice Training and gained a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Her interests are gynaecology, paediatrics and travel medicine, as well as minor injury management. She also holds a senior position at Hawkesbury Hospital in Emergency and trains students from Notre Dame University.

    Dr Tauber is available Mondays and Thursdays.

  • Dr Amanda Wildsmith

    (MBChB (New Zealand) FRACGP)

    Graduated in 1984 from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. After her hospital years she worked in Family Planning in New Zealand and London. In London she went on to work in gynaecology in University College Hospital and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital. She has an ongoing interest in Women’s Health. In Sydney she worked in Hornsby and Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital in the Emergency Department for many years before undertaking her fellowship in General Practice in Western Sydney. Her other interests include the promotion of health, both physically and mentally.

    Dr Wildsmith is available Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

  • Dr Annette Skarschewski

    (MBBS(Hons)(Syd), FRACGP, DRCOG(Lon), DFFP(Lon))

    Annette graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995 with Honours and trained as a medical student at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

    Her Internship and Residency took place at Prince of Wales Hospital. Annette worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Palliative Care and Emergency in London hospitals. Annette’s GP training was undertaken in Albury and Kentish Town in UK. She worked in General Practice in Fleet St London and Kings Cross. On return to Australia Annette worked as a GP for 4 years in Hunters Hill Medical Practice, followed by 10 years at North St Ives Medical Practice.

    Her medical interest areas are Mental Health, Women’s Health, Preventative Health and Geriatrics.

    Dr Skarschewski is available Monday Tuesday and Thursday.

  • PRACTICE NURSES

    RN Sarah Bovington is available at the surgery on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for vaccinations, wound dressings, ECG’s etc. She also performs annual Over 75 Health Assessments as home visits.
